RESPONSIBLE PESTICIDE USE

Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) is the federal agency responsible for the regulation of pest control products in Canada. All pesticide products are highly regulated at all levels of government.

WHAT DOES THE PMRA DO?

By seeking to minimize the risks associated with pesticides, the PMRA helps protect human health, safety and the environment.

Before a pesticide is considered for registration in Canada, it must undergo extensive testing to determine the potential risks posed to human health and the environment.

The PMRA carefully reviews all the data submitted (including the raw data) to determine if the product is acceptable for use in Canada, and cross-checks between studies as an additional measure of validation of the final decisions. The Agency may also compare its results with regulatory counterparts in other countries such as the U.S. and members of the European Union, to ensure that similar conclusions are drawn from the evaluations.

You can count on them for punctuality, professionalism and thoroughness. Shout out to Cody who went above and beyond today: on his own accord, he brought our garbage/recycling bins to our garage door from the road and was able to retrieve a helium balloon that had floated up to the top of our cathedral ceiling. I cannot rate this company high enough. I first talked with Thomas on the phone. He was so polite and patient with this 79 year old lady animal advocate. He talked me through everything and I made my choice of the service I desired. I got an appointment the next day. Craig was right on time and he went through everything again and made sure I understood the whole procedure. I feel I got a very fair price for the work done.
