KEEP OUT CREEPY CRAWLERS
There are many creepy crawling insects that live in your home or business, which you hope 
never to run into...especially at night...in a dark, damp basement.
In fact, no one wants to think about what goes bump in the night, let alone have an actual live encounter with something that does!
For many homes and businesses, silverfish, firebrats, centipedes and millipedes are those creepy crawlers. They are nocturnal pests who hunt their prey at night, and hide from sight during the day. While they may be hunting and eating despised common household insects, like spiders and flies (and even each other), their appearance is just too hard to look past. They are grotesque, frightful, and for many, can make their skin crawl by when sighted or simply by name. Between the legs, body segments, tails and antennae, these pests are the stuff that inspire horror films.
In addition to being nocturnal and helping control common nuisance bugs and insects in our homes and businesses, what else do these pests have in common?
- They are extremely fast.
- They are excellent hiders.
- They need and thrive in high moisture areas.
While huge infestations of silverfish, firebrats, centipedes and millipedes are not likely, they can be difficult to find indoors and to quantity numbers.
Two of the most successful courses of action you can take when it comes to these creepy crawlers are:
- Prevent them from getting inside through regular upkeep and maintenance - Repair broken screens, fix leaking pipes and faucets, seal cracks and crevices around doors, windows and foundations, and replace borken weather stripping.
- Make your home or business unfavourable - Use a dehumidifier or fans to dry out high moisture areas.
Now is the perfect time to do these because as the Fall weather continues to cool, many of these creepy crawlers will be looking for a winter home. If you don’t want to bump into them, keeping them out is essential.
