HONEY BEE PRESERVATION HAS NEVER BEEN SO SWEET

Our passion for the environment runs deep. It’s what our company was founded on in 1988, a jar of honey from environmental pest controland is still deeply rooted in our processes, techniques, core values, and people. We have a solid 30-year track record of helping homeowners and businesses address pest issues without reliance on pesticide products.

Our dedication and commitment to the environment was the driving force behind our 2016 decision to do something meaningful to help save the endangered honey bee population. Honey bees play a crucial role in our environment and livelihood. They pollinate 80% of vegetable and fruit crops. That's a pretty big deal!

First, we expanded our services to include honey bee extraction to prevent unnecessary harm to them. Honey bee extraction is a complicated process involving locating the nest, safely removing the complete nest, and bees, and relocating them to an ideal location in which they will thrive in. Extractions should never be attempted without a professional.

Second, we started raising honey bees to help preserve and grow their population.

Since 2006 honey bee colonies have mysteriously struggled, and beekeepers have reported devastating losses in numbers of bees. More troubling is that the cause for the demise of honey bees is unknown and is referred to as CCD or colony collapse disorder. Theories for CCD range from pesticides to more recently the result of varroa mites (external parasites), which attack honey bees and their broods, and shorten their lifespan. In addition to CCD, people are intentionally killing honey bees because they are feared, mistaken or deemed a nuisance around homes and businesses. This only quickens their demise.

If honey bee populations continue to disappear, there will be a devastating, monumental impact on our livelihood.

For us, offering honey bee extraction services and raising honey bees was and is the natural, and right thing to do. We're proud of our efforts over the past 2 years and definitely plan to continue to help save the bees. We currently have 2 registered beekeepers on our team, and 6 honey bee colonies under their expert care.

If you have a honey bee issue, we encourage you to consider a honey bee extraction service rather than killing the bees. We can all help save the honey bee and help turn things around through preservation.
